Over the next few hours, she remained hemodynamically unstable. She
had a borderline cardiac index and blood pressure despite high dose
inotropic
and pressor support. She developed florid pulmonary edema and severe
hypoxemia which could not be reversed despite maximal ventilatory support.
Minimizing
the right ventricular flow rate in an attempt to decrease pulmonary edema
was unsuccessful as well.
