The patient is a 19 year old female with pain in the right medial knee it is most noticable at night and when she bends her knee. She was playing volleyball on Thanksgiving day when she fell forward on both knees. Her right knee became very swollen and did not respond to ice. The pain now radiates to the front of the knee. She recalls twisting her knee 7 years ago and a ski injury 2 years ago. Exam of lower extremities: Strength 5/5, DTR's -patellar 3+, Babinski downward. NL ROM Neurovascular symmetric bilaterally with exception of dorsal aspect, right great toe which has diminished sensation. Right knee is swollen medially, a firm non-mobile mass is appreciated. 1.
