After discussion with the family a decision was made to withdraw care. The patient was extubated on the morning of 01/16 and died 5 hours later.

An Autopsy was performed which revealed a perforated terminal ileum with gastrointestinal contents in the peritoneal cavity, and focal ulcerations of the terminal ileum and large bowel.

Section at low power of ulceration and necrosis with underlying serositis.

Inflammation on serosa (serositis)
Active disease with inflammation through the wall and granulomas
