MDLB 4400 - Immunohematology I

Course covers blood-group serology, donation and storage of blood products, pretransfusion testing, transfusion therapy, adverse reactions to transfusion, and hemolytic disease of the newborn. Students will be introduced to problems encountered in transfusion medicine. Simulated clinical laboratory provides the opportunity to perform routine testing and resolve common serologic problems.

Prerequisite: PATH 5030 or Instructor Permission.
