MDLB 5400 - Clinical Immunohematology

Practical experience in all aspects of a modern blood bank, including the collection and processing of whole blood, evaluation of prenatal and perinatal blood samples, pretransfusion compatibility testing, and the serologic evaluation of suspected transfusion reactions. Serologic testing and problem-solving skills such as antibody indentification are stressed.

Prerequisite: MD LB 4400 or Instructor Permission.
