Pediatric Pathology Fellowship
About Pediatric Pathology Fellowship
The Department of Pathology at the University of Utah School of Medicine offers an ACGME-accredited one-year fellowship program in pediatric pathology. This fellowship offers extensive experience in pediatric anatomic and clinical pathology at Primary Children’s Medical Center, ARUP Laboratories and the University of Utah. Over 4,000 pediatric surgical pathology specimens, 100 perinatal and pediatric autopsy cases and fetal examinations, and additional outside pediatric surgical pathology consultations are performed at the hospitals. Exposure to both general and esoteric pediatric laboratory testing is available at Primary Children’s Medical Center and ARUP Laboratories. Active programs in pediatric hematopathology, molecular diagnostics, cytogenetics, immunopathology, pediatric clinical chemistry, pediatric transfusion medicine, and pediatric microbiology offer an additional opportunity for training. Research opportunities are available in both anatomic and clinical pathology.
This training program satisfies the requirements for the American Board of Pathology examination in Pediatric Pathology.
