About J. Michele Stuart, Ph.D.

Dr. Stuart's current research interests include organizational and professional socialization and job choice theory focusing on medical laboratory science students.  Dr. Stuart continues her interest in disaster preparedness and mitigation.

Dr. Stuart's research informs medical laboratory science higher education programs, higher education policy and workforce recruitment tactics.  Her research supports the notion that having the ability to regulate work schedules and flexibility, having familiarity with the organization and work, knowing the nature of the job, and having a comprehensive employee benefits package are considered more important factors than salary and geographic location when making a job choice decision.  Understanding medical laboratory science students' employment considerations and the socializing agents and tactics that influence graduates to seek employment brings focus to industry recruitment activities.
