About Michael C. Berry, SCT (ASCP)

Instructor Berry has focused his efforts for the Department in the Medical Laboratory Science Programs.  He is the program director, education coordinator, and primary instructor for the cytotechnology specialization.  This program is the only degree-granting cytotechnology program in the Intermountain West, and only one of 4 cytotechnology programs operating west of Kansas.  Mr. Berry is also active in the American Society of Cytopathology, where he has coordinated the local arrangements committee for the 2002 Annual Scienctific Meeting held in Salt Lake and is currently on the Current Concepts and New Technologies Committee.  He is also past president of the Mountain States Association of Cytotechnologists.

Mr. Berry is also the Billing Compliance Manager for the Department of Pathology.  Since 1999, he has been responsible for policy enforcement, auditing, and education in the area of anatomic pathology billing.  He also sits on the Corporate Compliance Committee of Associated Regional and University Pathologists (ARUP).

Mr. Berry also serves as a de facto teaching specialist for the ARUP Cytopathology Laboratory.
