Residency Program Curriculum

The curriculum is structured in such a way to give residents in both tracks maximum scheduling flexibility. In the AP/CP program, the PGY-1 year and nine months of the PGY-2 year are predetermined. Residents are allowed to schedule the remaining three months of their PGY-2 year as well as their PGY-3 and PGY-4 years with required and elective rotations and research time. In the CP-only program, the PGY-1 year consists of core training in transfusion medicine, microbiology and infectious disease, clinical chemistry, and hematopathology, and CP-only residents are allowed to schedule their PGY-2 and PGY-3 years as they see fit to best integrate clinical and research elective months.
