About Katherine B. Geiersbach, M.D.
Dr. Katherine B. Geiersbach has joined ARUP Laboratories, Division of Genetics, Department of Cytogenetics & Molecular Cytogenetics as an Assistant Medical Director and is a Visiting Instructor in the Department of Pathology. She received her MD from the University of Colorado School of Medicine in Denver, CO (2001) where she also completed her AP/CP residency training in pathology and a fellowship in Cytogenetics (2007). She completed her fellowship in Molecular Genetic Pathology in the Department of Pathology & ARUP Laboratories, Salt Lake City, UT in early 2009. Dr. Geiersbach has an active physician license in Utah.
Dr. Geiersbach is a Fellow of the College of American Pathologists Fellow and the American Society for Clinical Pathology. She is a member of the Association for Molecular Pathology and is on the AMP Website Editorial Board. She has also served as a consulting research pathologist for Myriad Genetics, Inc.
Dr. Geiersbach's research interest include DNA based genotyping of molar pregnancy, Next Generation sequencing for the diagnosis of hereditary disorders, and molecular detection of malignancy using methylated DNA markers in peripheral blood.
