About Joel Bentz, M.D.

Dr. Bentz is the medical director of the Cytopathology Laboratory at ARUP Laboratories. He is an associate professor of pathology at the University of Utah. Dr. Bentz received his M.D. degree from the University of North Dakota and his M.S. degree in anatomy and cell biology from the University of Iowa. He is certified by the American Board of Pathology in anatomic and clinical pathology with added qualification in cytopathology. He is on the medical staff of the University of Utah Hospitals and Clinics, Primary Children's Medical Center and Salt Lake Veterans Administration Medical Center in Salt Lake City. He is a member of the Huntsman Cancer Care Program at the Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah Health Sciences Center. Dr. Bentz has published peer-reviewed articles and book chapters in the areas of gynecologic cytopathology, fine needle aspiration, molecular pathology, and breast pathology.
