MLS Graduate Admission--Pathology Department at the University of Utah

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • B.S. degree with certification in Medical Technology / Clinical Laboratory Science or a B.S. degree in other sciences (i.e., chemistry, biochemistry, biology, microbiology, etc.). Prerequisites in clinical laboratory science courses may be required.
  • Clinical laboratory experience or research experience is recommended.
  • Minimum grade point average of 3.0.
  • International applicants must score at least 550 on the TOEFL exam.
  • International applicants must take the Graduate Record Exam (GRE)

The deadline for all application materials is April 1. Notification of acceptance will be provided before June 1 for the following academic year. Applications will only be considered for Fall admission.

  • “Letter of Intent” describing and clarifying any experience or background in the clinical laboratory, reasons for pursuing a Master’s degree, expectations of the program of study, expected area of specialization, career goals, etc.
